We’re a family-run Australian toy store, inspired by a little person with a very big imagination.
Our one-year-old has a wonderful habit of turning almost anything we give him into something completely different.
A wooden animal isn’t always an animal. A block isn’t always something to build with. A silk, a car, a box or something we’d barely given a second thought can suddenly become part of a game that makes perfect sense to him — even when, as his parents, we would never have imagined it ourselves.
Watching him play has reminded us just how extraordinary a child’s imagination can be.
And that’s really where Little Worlds began.
Toys that leave room for children
We believe some of the best toys are the ones that don’t decide everything for the child.
They give them somewhere to start.
A wooden animal becomes part of a farm, then a passenger in a car, then the unlikely hero of a story invented on the living-room floor. A handful of blocks becomes a tower, a road, a home or something that doesn’t have a name yet.
As children grow, the play can grow with them.
The same toy that is explored, carried and stacked by a toddler can become part of elaborate small worlds, constructions and stories a few years later.
We love toys that make that possible.
Quality made to last
Children play hard. Their toys should be ready for it.
We look for toys that balance beautiful design with quality materials, thoughtful manufacturing and genuine play value.
Many of the toys we choose are made from wood and other natural or durable materials. We value responsible manufacturing, considered material choices and products designed with longevity in mind.
But sustainability, to us, is also about how long something remains useful.
We love toys that don’t become irrelevant when a child reaches their next birthday. Toys that can take on new roles as their interests and abilities change. Toys that can move between siblings, be passed on to another family or survive enough adventures to collect a few stories of their own.
A toy made to last matters even more when a child still wants to play with it years later.
Thoughtfully chosen
Little Worlds isn’t intended to be a catalogue of everything.
We bring together toys from makers we admire — from much-loved names to smaller brands worth discovering — and carefully choose from within their ranges.
You’ll find wooden animals and miniature worlds, vehicles and roads, blocks and construction sets, silks and sensory pieces, musical instruments, pretend food and other wonderful starting points for play.
Some are wonderfully simple. Some are extraordinary pieces designed to last for years. Many become even better when they’re combined.
What matters to us isn’t having the biggest range. It’s building a collection that feels considered.
Toys that belong together
We particularly love toys that don’t have to live in isolation.
A Schleich animal doesn’t only belong with other Schleich animals. It can wander through a block-built forest, ride in a wooden vehicle, hide beneath a play silk or become part of an entirely new world.
A road can connect a building set to a play scene. A silk can become water, grass, a cape or the roof of a cubby. Simple pieces can give completely different toys a reason to meet.
Over time, we’d like Little Worlds to help families build collections this way: gradually, thoughtfully and with pieces that add possibilities rather than simply adding more.
Made for real homes
We love beautiful toys, but they still need to be toys.
They’re meant to be held, pushed, stacked, knocked over, carried around, incorporated into elaborate stories and occasionally discovered somewhere they absolutely do not belong.
We look for products that balance thoughtful design with real play — things children can genuinely enjoy and adults can feel good about bringing into their homes.
