Auris Stir Xylophone Drum RTS – Melody

The Auris Melody Stir Xylophone Drum is played by guiding its wooden mallet around the inside in a circular motion, rather than striking a row of separate bars. As the mallet moves, successive notes form a flowing melodic pattern, with the speed and direction of the stirring changing the experience of the sound. This unusual wooden percussion instrument offers a different way to hear a sequence of tones: one continuous gesture replaces a series of individual strikes.
